It’s been a while, and we are sorry we kept you waiting. We released the new Weblate version last week!

There are many wonderful changes and improvements, so let’s check some of them.

Even though there are no new formats supported, there are format-related new features. ICU MessageFormat has new checks, and generating MO files for monolingual formats is fixed. A newly supported something is Python 3.10.

The under-the-hood tweaks are once more represented by performance improvements, starting with translation pages and continuing with history - it’s quicker in rendering and serving more details at the same time.

Android developers will welcome the implementation of a shortened Play Store title length to 30 characters to meet upcoming guidelines. API lovers will like the new endpoint that’s downloading all component translations in just one ZIP file.

There is no such thing as too many backups, right? Weblate’s Borg integration now supports additions, exclusions, etc. Check it in the docs and modify your backups if you want.

If you like to know the version before adopting it, do so at Hosted. You can help translate some lovely libre projects there or add your own Libre project! Or start your trial!

Extended support subscribers already got their upgrade, and Dedicated instances’ customers are enjoying it, too. Ask the Weblate team for help if you want to feel the same comfort. We like to chat all Weblate, not just updates!

If you want to discuss anything Weblate, you’re welcome here. If you’re going to tell the world about the platform, Twitter is one of the places where it helps us.

Thank you for reading, take care, and see you soon with future news!
